Abstract

In Brazil, telehealth was regulated in 2017 through the Telessaúde Brasil Redes Program, with the purpose of improving the quality of care and primary care in the Unified Health System (SUS). The ease of access promoted by information and communication technologies is one of the main characteristics that makes it increasingly attractive in the process of professional improvement. Therefore, the objective of this work was to understand the contribution of telenutrition to the continuous education of Primary Health Care (PHC). For this purpose, five Google forms answered by 134 participants during the lectures held between April and November 2023 were analyzed. The topics covered nutrition and vegetarianism, interpretation of biochemical tests related to vegetarians, the role of the nutritionist in Long-Term Care Facilities for the Elderly (ILPIs), programs and strategies to address malnutrition in Minas Gerais, and nutritional management of obesity in PHC. Regarding knowledge about the topic before the lectures, approximately 60% rated it as satisfactory or very satisfactory. After the lecture, this number increased to around 96%. Therefore, encouraging distance education is essential, as it allows many professionals who do not have the time and resources to attend in-person courses to improve their practice.
