Abstract
This article is a descriptive study of an experience report of the project “Saúde na Tela” (free translation: Health on Screen). A didactic mediated by videos with adolescence and chemical dependency as theme was used. The target audience: teenagers in school age. A survey was carried before and after the video about the addressed issue. This work was financed by the Fundo de Amparo a Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento Tecnológico do Maranhão (FAPEMA) (free translation: Maranhão’s Research and Technological Development Supporting Fund), by the protocols 1371/10 and 1422/10. The objective is to describe the results obtained from a university extension project in education in health and the use of audiovisual resources. Two videos were produced, one about puberty and adolescence, using flash animation followed by a theoretical class taught by a doctor specialized in adolescent medicine. The obtained answers showed that many young adults don’t receive information about adolescence and that mostly male youngsters reported not talking about this particular theme with their family. The second video addressed chemical dependency and used the
stop motion technique, followed by an alarming- toned video and concluded with teachers’ theoretical exposition. It was observed that female individuals had lesser knowledge about the theme. Compared to other similar projects, the project “Saúde na Tela” (free translation: Health on Screen) obtained good results and demonstrated how a project in telehealth can be used when the focus is health education.
